A new study shows that acupuncture helps treat Essential Tremors. The more I work with TBI’s (Traumatic Brain Injuries), the more I am fascinated with the effects of acupuncture on brain and neurologic function. There are some amazing things that happen to the body when I perform a treatment. The recoveries that I have witnessed have been amazing. Its good to see this area of medicine being explored with alternative medicine.
Here’s a study that shows the effectiveness of acupuncture in the treatment of essential tremors. Essential Tremors and Parkinson’s Disease are many times confused with one another. They share similar appearances on the surface, however have completely different sources and different methods of progression. The most significant difference is where they begin from. Essential Tremors is an autosomal dominant disorder and can be traced back through family history. Parkinson’s Disease is unknown as to the cause and is believed to be both genetic as well as environmental. This study is focused on people diagnosed with Essential Tremors.
This is an interesting study because I work with patients with Essential Tremors and have seen the results it gives them. The results of the scalp acupuncture seem very impressive and it should at least warrant further explorations. I think it is interesting to note that the study shows the effectiveness of traditional acupuncture is not as great as scalp acupuncture. I hope you enjoy this study.
